NOTICE OF RACE The Wild Bill Rig Race Saturday, June 9, 2018

1 RULES
This race will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, Sailing Instructions (SIs), SoCal PHRF or ORCA rating rules, and applicable class association rules. The PHRF Marine Industry Racer (MIR) Rule is not in effect. This modifies PHRF Class Rule 8.
Area A Random Leg Course (RLC) ratings will be used. The Race Committee (RC) may assign a temporary rating for this race for boats without a current PHRF or ORCA rating.


2 CLASSES
Spinnaker class is open to all boats with current PHRF ratings; nonspinnaker class is open to any boat at least 22 feet; multihull class is open to those with current ORCA ratings. If a current PHRF or ORCA rating is not available, the Race Committee (RC) may assign a rating for purposes of this race only.


3 RACE ENTRY & FEES
Online race entry (RegattaNetwork.com) and payment of entry fees is encouraged, although boat skippers may also enter and/or pay their fees in person prior to the Skippers Meeting. Entry fees are $30 for USSA members and $35 for non members.


4 SCHEDULE
Saturday, June 9, 2018: Onsite Registration & mandatory Skippers Meeting, 8:30 AM at CIYC. The first warning signal is scheduled for 10:55 AM.


5 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing Instructions (SIs) and courses will be available at the Skippers Meeting and may be posted online (CIYC.com and RegattaNetwork.com) in advance. The race will begin near the Mandalay race buoy and finish in Channel Islands Harbor in front of CIYC. Course distance may range from 8.5 to 17.2 nm.
6 PRIZES

Individual prizes will be awarded at CIYC after racing. The Wild Bill Rig Race Perpetual Trophy will be engraved with the winners’ names and classes and displayed at Channel Islands Yacht Club.


7 INSURANCE & DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance. Competitors participate in the race entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage, personal injury, nor death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during, or after the regatta.
